  • Towards the Nubra Valley
  • A village day towards Turtuk

One day at a time.

DAY 01

Arrive in Leh and rest

+

a sign on the side of a road that says you are now higher than ever

Meet your driver and transfer directly to your Leh hotel. Keep the rest of the day entirely free for acclimatisation; there is no sightseeing or higher-route travel planned. Leh’s altitude makes rest the priority immediately after arrival. Keep the day free of sightseeing and follow your clinician’s advice for your own health circumstances. Your confirmed arrival instructions will name the pickup point and hotel; timing depends on your actual flight or train and local traffic.

DAY 02

A complete rest day in Leh

+
brown mountains under blue sky during daytime
a group of people riding on the backs of horses

Continue the arrival rest period with a second quiet hotel day. There are no excursions or exertional activities scheduled. Subsequent plans remain subject to how you feel and local guidance. Use the second day to continue acclimatising, not to make up missed sightseeing. Discuss any symptoms or concerns with a qualified medical professional. The day stays deliberately flexible. Any paid outing, treatment, or special meal is optional unless it appears in your written quotation.

DAY 03

A gentle introduction to Leh

+
a body of water with hills in the background
a large body of water surrounded by mountains

After at least 48 hours of complete rest, take a short, carefully paced local introduction to Leh’s cultural landmarks if you are comfortable to proceed. Return to your hotel without overfilling the day. A short local outing introduces the culture without a long drive. Proceed only if you feel well, and keep the visit flexible enough to return early. Opening hours, traffic, and the season can change the order of visits; the confirmed itinerary will identify what is included and what remains optional.

+

Take a guided outing along the lower western valley route to Alchi and selected cultural stops. The day is adjusted around local access, road conditions and your group’s pace. The lower western valley offers a different landscape and historic sites. Road conditions and opening times shape the final selection of stops. The final visiting order, transport, admission fees, and time at each stop will be clear in your written quotation for your chosen dates.

DAY 05

Towards the Nubra Valley

+
A city street filled with lots of tall buildings
people walking on wooden bridge

Travel by the permitted high-pass route to Nubra, subject to current road conditions and your readiness to proceed. Build in appropriate breaks and settle into your valley stay on arrival. This is a significant mountain-road day. Travel only when permits, conditions, and your readiness allow, with stops and arrival time kept realistic. Your final route will state the overnight base, transport arrangement, and any agreed stop, with a realistic allowance for the journey.

Meals: Breakfast on hotel mornings; other meals as confirmed

DAY 06

A village day towards Turtuk

+

a motorcycle driving down a desert road with mountains in the background

Take a day excursion towards Turtuk where access and your permissions allow. Explore village character respectfully with your local guide and return to your Nubra base. The village is reached by a longer excursion from Nubra. Check permissions and road time, and be considerate in residential areas. Opening hours, traffic, and the season can change the order of visits; the confirmed itinerary will identify what is included and what remains optional.

DAY 07

Nubra, without a checklist

+

Spend a quiet day around your stay, with optional short local visits agreed with your guide. It is a pause between the longer road sections of the journey. A slower day provides a useful break between high-pass drives. Enjoy the valley close to your stay or choose one short outing. The day stays deliberately flexible. Any paid outing, treatment, or special meal is optional unless it appears in your written quotation.

Travel to Pangong by the route confirmed for your starting point and current conditions. Keep the lake visit responsible, remain on designated routes and settle into your agreed overnight accommodation. The lake sits in a sensitive high-altitude environment. Follow designated routes, prepare for basic facilities, and keep plans responsive to conditions. We plan sensible breaks for food and photographs, then confirm the guide, transport, and any ticketed experiences before you book.

Return to Leh on the road route confirmed with your local team. Leave the evening free after the drive, with time to settle back into your hotel. The return drive can take much of the day. Your final route will state the overnight base, transport arrangement, and any agreed stop, with a realistic allowance for the journey.
